Asher-Smith And Procter Both Earn National Records But Only One Medal

Both Dina Asher-Smith in the Women's 200m final and Shara Procter in the long jump final earned national records but only a silver medal was earned between them, by Shara Procter, at the Birds Nest.

In the sprint the young Brit, hotly tipped to contest a medal, finished 5th overall but earned herself the British record that she has been tipped to beat for some time.  Dafne Shippers, pentathlete turned sprinter, took gold.

In the long jump, Katrina Johnson-Thompson finished 11th but the best of the Brits was Shara Procter.  She managed a huge jump measuring at 7.07m.  This was only beaten by penultimate jumper Tianna Bartoletta who managed a huge 7.14, just seven centimeters more than Procter.
